PARTICIPANTS

Eligibility

1. SDG Youth is open to all students studying in grades 9 through 12 (or the equivalent).
2. Participating students must be able to communicate proficiently in English.

- You must meet one of the following requirements

  1. The applicant’s native language is English
  2. Submit a TOEFL score of 90 or above
  3. Submit an SAT score report with a score of 600 or above in the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section
  4. Submit a counselor or teacher recommendation letter verifying the applicant’s ability to communicate proficiently in English

Application Process

1. Please fill out the following application form to be considered for admission into our program:
2. In the application form, you will be asked to choose up to two departments and/or projects you would like to be part of. You may also request to create and lead your own team project. The following is a list of departments and/or projects currently available for students to join:

Departments

  1. Research Department: as a member of the Research Department, you will be responsible for assisting the individual Action Teams produce research that is in compliance with the work and rules of our organization.
  2. Campaigns Department: as a member of the Campaigns Department, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the campaign activities and projects of the individual Action Teams.
  3. Volunteer Department: as a member of the Volunteer Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the volunteer activities and projects of the individual Action Teams.
  4. Public Relations Department: as a member of the Public Relations Department, you will be responsible for spreading awareness about our organization and the work of our student members.
  5. Operations Department: as a member of the Operations Department, you will be responsible for managing the internal operations of the organization, such as updating the member database, assigning new/old members to their appropriate Departments and/or Action Teams, overseeing human resource management, and creating organization strategies and policies.
  6. IT Department: as a member of the IT Department, you will be responsible for managing the organization’s website and online platforms.
  7. Human Resources Department: as a member of the Human Resources Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of our organization's members.  

Action Teams

  1. Action Team for Corporate Engagement: as a member of the Action Team for Corporate Engagement, you will participate in global campaigns, research, and other activities to support business participation for the SDGs
  2. Action Team for Climate Action: as a member of the Action Team for Climate Action, you will participate in global campaigns, research, and volunteer projects to spread awareness about and prevent climate change
3. Please note that there is a monthly participation fee of $100 for all students, unless you were notified in your decision letter that you qualify for a half or full scholarship. You will receive an invoice for paying the monthly participation fee together with your decision letter. The monthly participation fee is non-refundable.
4. Once your payment is confirmed, you will receive a welcome packet from the Student Secretary General by email.
